Research and Publication Ethics

The Journal of New Business Ideas and Trends (JNBIT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in research and scholarly publishing. The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers to adhere to internationally accepted ethical principles throughout the submission, review, and publication process.

 

JNBIT promotes responsible research practices and takes all necessary measures to prevent publication misconduct, ensuring the credibility and reliability of the scholarly record.

 

Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to JNBIT are expected to:

 

  • Submit only original and unpublished work.
  • Ensure that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal simultaneously.
  • Accurately present research methods, findings, and interpretations.
  • Properly acknowledge the work of others through appropriate citations and references.
  • Obtain necessary permissions for copyrighted materials.
  • Disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest.
  • Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and approved the final manuscript.
  • Notify the journal promptly if a significant error is discovered in a published article.

 

Authorship Criteria

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to:

 

  • Study conception and design.
  • Data collection, analysis, or interpretation.
  • Drafting or critically revising the manuscript.
  • Approval of the final version for publication.

 

Individuals who contribute to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

 

Originality and Plagiarism

JNBIT maintains a strict policy against plagiarism in all forms. Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are entirely original and properly cite all sources used.

 

The journal considers the following unacceptable:

 

  • Direct plagiarism.
  • Self-plagiarism.
  • Mosaic plagiarism.
  • Unattributed paraphrasing.
  • Unauthorized use of data, figures, tables, or images.

 

All manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software before acceptance.

 

Data Integrity and Research Misconduct

Authors must ensure that research data are accurate, reliable, and honestly reported. Any form of research misconduct is strictly prohibited, including:

 

  • Data fabrication.
  • Data falsification.
  • Manipulation of research findings.
  • Selective reporting of results.
  • Misrepresentation of research outcomes.

 

The journal reserves the right to request supporting data where necessary.

 

Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Manuscripts that substantially overlap with previously published work without proper disclosure may be rejected.

 

Duplicate publication, redundant publication, and salami-slicing of research findings are considered unethical publishing practices.

 

Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any relationships, affiliations, or financial interests that could influence the objectivity of the research or publication process.

 

Potential conflicts may include:

 

  • Employment relationships.
  • Research funding.
  • Consultancy agreements.
  • Stock ownership.
  • Personal or professional relationships.

 

All disclosed conflicts will be evaluated to ensure transparency and fairness.

 

Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

 

  • Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Conduct objective and constructive reviews.
  • Provide timely evaluations.
  • Identify relevant published work not cited by authors.
  • Report suspected ethical concerns or misconduct.

Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal benefit.

 

Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

 

  • Making fair and unbiased editorial decisions.
  • Evaluating manuscripts solely on academic merit.
  • Maintaining confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Avoiding conflicts of interest.
  • Taking appropriate action when ethical concerns arise.
  • Ensuring the integrity of the scholarly record.

 

Editorial decisions are not influenced by commercial interests, institutional affiliations, nationality, race, gender, or religious beliefs.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generated Content

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools to assist with language editing or manuscript preparation; however:

  • Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content.
  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Any significant use of AI-assisted technologies should be disclosed within the manuscript where appropriate.
  • Authors must verify all AI-generated content before submission.

 

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

When necessary, JNBIT may publish:

  • Corrections for significant errors.
  • Retractions for unreliable or unethical publications.
  • Expressions of concern while investigations are ongoing.

 

Such actions will be conducted transparently to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

 

Complaints and Appeals

Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions or submit complaints regarding the editorial process. All appeals and complaints will be handled fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with established journal procedures.
